Canada DanceSport is an
international Standard and Latin dance competition
sanctioned by the International
DanceSport Federation (IDSF).
It qualifies as an IDSF Open World Ranking
Tournament.
Canada DanceSport was founded in 1999 by Josef Riha and Michael Caldwell. Canada DanceSport, Inc. is a Kingston-based,
not-for-profit community organization whose missionis to foster recreational and competitive excellence in the art of ballroom dance, for all ages and levels of dancers. We strive to provide continuous opportunities for technical and artistic growth to ballroom dancers through coaching, financial support, and partnership with the local, regional, national, and international ballroom dance communities. Canada DanceSport is committed to providing education and outreach programming that is accessible to people of all abilities, so that our entire community may enjoy the artistic, physical, social, and emotional benefits of ballroom dance.
All of Canada DanceSport’s events and programs are run by volunteers.
We also support the local Kingston community through our partnership with
Breast
Cancer Action Kingston.
